Increasing Engagement at Samsung
At two weeks’ notice Interactive Workshops created and delivered an exciting week of 16 webinars for Samsung Electronics colleagues in Europe. Packed with valuable insights, psychological strategies and practical tips to survive and thrive in a highly challenging environment. A first for bringing colleagues working remotely across Europe together for virtual interactive development.
The Challenge
Samsung wanted to be proactive in supporting colleagues during the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic and ran a colleague survey to identify key challenges. They asked IW to help create a bespoke webinar series to equip colleagues in connecting, collaborating and coping in the uncertain and challenging circumstances. Our experience with populations who work remotely informed the creation of a programme to fit around the day-to-day realities of lockdown that colleagues could adapt to suit their own home and work priorities. As experts in their respective fields, it was important to create a series where delegates gained valuable knowledge and insight in bitesize sessions.
More Flexible Working
A sudden new way of working that was unfamiliar to many. Potential to lose structure, motivation and keep the boundaries between work and home life.
More Social Isolation
A lack of social interaction was the biggest challenge identified. Dedicated manager sessions supported with prioritising colleague and team morale.
More Communication Barriers
It was important to avoid potential misunderstandings, missed opportunities and ineffective working due to communication being more difficult.

How we helped
As an agile agency with vast experience in delivering online learning, we proposed, scoped, created and delivered a webinar series for Samsung’s European population within a fortnight. We delivered 16 webinars on 12 different topics, themes centred on management, leadership, high performance teams, as well as, more topical home working tips & tricks and wellbeing through the uncertainty. The ‘Helping Hand’ Webinar Series ran over the course of the week, with all assets edited and packaged for upload to Samsung’s learning platform for wider engagement.
In collaboration with the European HR team, we concluded that the webinars should be designed with the following in mind, to provide maximum value:
Achieving these aims ensured this fast-paced learning week was positively received and valued by colleagues with a total attendance of 899.
